Boutique Bed & Breakfast
Old Perithia, “Corfu’s best kept secret”.For sale a luxurious property of 327 sqm, set on a plot of 522,55 sqm with an opportunity to buy a piece of prime land just nearby. This traditional stone house with romantic style features is presently operating as a Boutique Bed & Breakfast, and is one of Corfu’s most highly awarded accommodations. It could alternatively be the catalyst for further development, converted into individual apartments, as a family home, or a combination of any of the above. Presently as a B&B, each of the six suites has its own private entrance, a double bedroom, a sitting room, a good sized bathroom and access to an attractively planted terraced garden, paved with local stone and laid with lawn. It’s the result of the combination of three restored stone-built houses that maintain their original character and traditional Venetian architecture. All of the restoration, furniture, beds and the wrought iron works in the property, both internal and external, are hand made by local craftsmen.Old Perithia is Corfu’s oldest village, where you can still find the ‘real Corfu’ and which is a beautiful destination for those who want to get away from the crowds and the noise. In the past, pirate raids made the Corfiots search for a safer place in the mountains and so they found shelter in this well hidden village just below Mt. Pantokrator. The village is in a Designated Area of Natural Beauty and is Heritage Protected. Many years ago the residents left the village and it became practically all but deserted.Today’s image of the village is the charming remains of old stone houses and churches, and it is now gently coming back to life with restorations and purchases of both land and property. There are eight historical churches built around the village and five traditional tavernas where you can taste local home cooked food and delicious desserts throughout the year. The closest beach is St. Spyridon at (approx.) 8 km. away and the distance to Corfu town is (approx.) 50 km. There are certain places where you feel a ‘special atmosphere’, and that is the case for the old village of Perithia.A peaceful and verdant spot of great history which has plenty of beautiful walks to offer and much more besides, as you spend time in one of the island’s best loved villages by locals and visitors alike.
